“Lie
in sackcloth, sanctify ye a fast” by Michael Mangan Surely we have learned from last month’s cataclysmic events that Heaven says what They mean and mean what They say! Who could have imagined that an act of terrorism would claim up to 3000 lives, but Our Lady, Who warned us as far back as 15 years ago not to "take lightly" these "murderers" and "carnage." And now Tuesday, September 11, 2001 has the inglorious distinction of being the bloodiest and deadliest day in American history, dwarfing the previous high set during the Civil War when 3654 soldiers were killed in one day in the 1862 Battle of Antietam in Maryland. Here's two interesting points to consider: Our Lady’s warning of a terror attack “on the state building” came on the same calendar day in 1990--Tuesday, September 11--and we recently learned about the World Trade Center that "for a long time it was also a big state office building where you went to get a document stamped or a license renewed" (The New Yorker, Sept. 24, 2001).
Now with our nation at war with no end in sight, it is urgent we get out swiftly the new Heaven Speaks Today, Attack on America. Now. En masse. Around the globe. This message from Our Lady can save thousands of lives and souls. It can stamp out terrorism, end this war in Afghanistan quickly and bring peace and order to a fragile world--if we obey the counsel from Heaven. This may sound incredible, if not impossible, except when we recall the extraordinary power of national repentance and prayer, especially the holy Rosary, in gaining God’s favor and protection. That is why it is critical that God’s children everywhere receive this powerful and colorful brochure that not only exposes the evil plans of the terrorists but, even more importantly, clearly defines the spiritual dimension to this crisis.

Ultimately, our biggest enemy is not Osama bin Laden but legalized abortion, homosexuality, pornography and blasphemy. Worse than bin Laden--the world is sin-laden. Even if Osama is smoked out, there are a thousand others to replace him. To put things in perspective, in the six weeks since the terror attack, over 170,000 babies have been killed in abortion clinics in the United States alone, 28 times the amount killed in the September 11 tragedy. One recent article stated that a staggering 400 million abortions are annually committed worldwide! The unborn are being terrorized.
We see and hear all over God Bless America but how can God bless
America when our land allows and even funds the slaughter of His holy
innocents?! Good against evil. Heaven against hell. The Queen of Heaven against the prince of darkness. Our Lord explained on October 6, 1977: "Politics will not influence the advance of the man of sin. When your leaders recognize the existence of a supernatural world, My child, much more shall be accomplished in saving your city, your state, and your nation. As long as they accept everything upon a human basis, My child, they will never be able to defeat one who is supernatural."
The only true and lasting solution is not bombs and invasion, but prayers and conversion. In 1994, I was speaking on the phone with Veronica when Our Lady came to her in locution and said the same: "Only prayer can sometimes save the world" (Wednesday, June 19, 12:03 p.m.). O, that the cardinals and bishops would lead us in keeping the counsel of Our Lady and that of the prophet Joel: "Gird yourselves, and lament, O ye priests, howl, ye ministers of the altars: go in, lie in sackcloth, ye ministers of my God. . . . Sanctify ye a fast, call an assembly; gather together the ancients, all the inhabitants of the land into the house of your God: and cry ye to the Lord" (Joel 1.13-14). It seems any action but prayers and conversion are futile as Our Lady indicated on October 6, 1978: "Your country, the United States, will become involved and be asked to send more young to be slaughtered in foreign lands. You must not follow that calling. It will be useless." Our Lord added on June 6, 1987: "You are being tempted now to bring your sons to the foreign shores of foreign nations to fight and lose their lives. Is this what you want? How many hearts of parents will be torn by the carnage of receiving greetings from the United States or Canada, from the Army, the Navy, the Marines, saying: 'Your son is dead or missing in action.' " In Her last public message on June 18, 1994, Our Lady warned: "The next war will embroil many nations. It will be a war to the finish." Ugh!
Now is the time for the Christian world to roll out the heavy artillery, not nuclear missiles, but one of the greatest weapons on the face of this earth--the holy Rosary: "The greatest power given to Me from the Father are your beads of prayer" (Our Lady, Dec. 24, 1972). Catholic history has proven the victories won by this simple prayer. At Lepanto. Belgrade. Austria. Again Our Lady reminds us: "Realize the power in your hand with the Rosary, for in your hands you hold the power of God" (Oct. 6, 1970). Wow! This isn’t just a nice little thing to pray but a potent force that can crush the evil one, "a murderer from the beginning" (John 8:44). St. Michael's is chipping in by offering, until further notice, the three Rosaries of the Sunday Holy Hour for peace in the world. It’s not coincidental that the war in Afghanistan began on October 7, the Feast of the Holy Rosary. We have rejected so far Heaven’s peace plan and now we risk a bloodbath both here and abroad. As Our Lady stated on March 26, 1983: "No war has ever made a pretty picture." We need to blitz our town, the nation and the world with this sobering but hopeful message and pray that the clergy and lay, the elected official and citizen take these words from Heaven seriously this time. Or else. How many more deaths and prophecies fulfilled will we have to count before we get it? For sheer impact there is nothing like being at Ground Zero. The gut-wrenching experience and the utter devastation was like something lifted from the pages of the Apocalypse, perhaps a preview of Chapter 18. We hope and pray this never happens again. A critical gauge will be the national and the global response to Our Lady’s message, Attack on America.
