A moment of grace by Our Lady of the Roses

we pray impacts his pontificate

A smiling Pope receives

a blessed Rose Petal

Michael "Looch" Lucci of Brooklyn, N.Y., placed in the hands of Pope Francis a blessed Rose Petal (in Italian) at the General Audience (December 13) in the Paul VI Audience Hall at the Vatican.

Looch held up the attractive Rose Petal and got the attention of the smiling Pope who reached out and took this powerful instrument of cure and conversion. He examined it, and then gripped it as he looked up and had quick eye contact with Looch who was hurriedly explaining: "In New York, there's a great Shrine. They pray the Rosary. It's really good."

Amazingly, Looch was the only pilgrim that the Pope engaged. The beauty and appeal of the Rose Petal and the intervention of Our Lady of the Roses, Mary Help of Mothers had a lot to do with that, for sure.

Mr. Lucci the MVP

Mr. Lucci had close access to the Pope because he was in the VIP section reserved for dignitaries and state leaders. He got the tickets through a priest-friend who was accompanying him and who in turn was a friend of Cardinal Baldisseri, the former Secretary General of the Synod of Bishops.

Michael Lucci Jr.

The Pope recently announced that he will be buried at the Basilica of St. Mary Major in Rome, one of the great Marian citadels in the world (along with Our Lady of the Roses Shrine, of course!), "because of my great devotion." He has made more than 100 visits to St. Mary Major since becoming pope.

Oremus. Let us pray that Our Lady of the Roses can reach Her son, the Vicar of Christ, that this mighty Rose Petal that touched the Pope will deeply move his heart, enlighten his mind and together with St. Joseph to whom he professes a great devotion, result in a giant epiphany.

Or at least an awareness that the Church is in shambles (Jesus, April 2, 1977), and to rebuild the Church on Sacred Tradition with the help of the angels, not demons (Our Lady, March 18, 1977).

Massive miracles

We remind the faithful of the thousands of miracles of body and soul wrought through the decades from this rose petal blessed in the Home of Jesus and Mary, the sacred grounds of Our Lady of the Roses Shrine. Many spectacular conversions come to mind, especially those of lapsed Catholics returning to the Church after 50 and 60 and even 70 years.

How would the Pope

know that?

Michael Mangan had a dream of Pope Francis on Monday, October 16, 2023. As incredulous as it may sound, Michael (who rarely remembers his dreams) was speaking to the Vicar about the Bayside apparitions. He was open, friendly, and attentive. It was a good conversation.

The encounter ended when the Pope inexplicably stated, "It's too bad you don't have a Vigil in January." Michael was stunned: "Wow, that's crazy. How would the Pope know that?" (As a matter of fact, in our 54 years, it's very rare to have a January Vigil.)

Interestingly, too, October 16 is a historical papal date: the election of John Paul II as the 264th pope of the Roman Catholic Church. In any event, we are just reporting.

Do we take this dream literally? Symbolically? Could there be any relevance down the road? Let's have all of this marinate for awhile. And see what happens, if anything.

But to be clear: let us all storm Heaven that the singular grace of the blessed rose petal will have a deep impact on the exasperating pontificate of the Holy Father, Francis.
