"What greater glory is there than for one to
become a bride of Christ, wedded to Christ eternally"
Veronica of the Cross, March 24, 1974 |
Mark your calendar! For the solemn profession of vows of
Sr. Therese of Merciful Love as a Carmelite cloistered nun. Bishop Fabian Bruskewitz (Lincoln Diocese) will do the veiling
and is the celebrant of this Solemn High Pontifical (Latin Tridentine)
Mass at the Throne. A reception will follow at the monastery
and all will have the opportunity to visit with Sr. Therese in
the speak-room.
You
will recall before her entrance in 2002, Sr. Therese testified on St.
Michael's Radio Program to the manifold graces received at Our Lady of
the Roses
Shrine and one of her heart-felt petitions is for the
"approbation of Bayside."
Right now we have
about 50 devotees
attending and Sr. Therese has asked that as many
Baysiders as possible share in this very special occasion: her
espousal to Jesus. We especially urge those living in the
Midwest and Great Plains area to drive to this
once-in-a-lifetime event.
For
those needing air and hotel, you have to act now because
prices are going up. For assistance or more information, call
Bill Dykes, LOSM at 718-359-3908.
Sr. Therese is the godchild/niece
of Michael Mangan (SMWA pres.) and is the daughter of Cape
Cod, Mass., organizers, Tom and Mary Bauer.

A Carmelite bride
Sometimes I wish that Our
Lord had placed my destiny in His wonderful convents on
earth, especially the Carmelite order! Oh, to be away
from the distractions of this world, to devote each
moment, every thought to the glorification of Our Lord!
Though some from outside may not understand
the emotional fulfillment of giving the soul to God, to
be able to live in a community devoted to living for
Christ and saving all our earthly friends from purgatory
or hell by our prayers, one must know through extensive
grace the feeling that prompts a young girl to leave the
outside world. This feeling is love, a love of God so
strong that the things of the world no longer are “what
I want.” For Our Lord is not of this world, so if we
really love Him we will want to be of His world.
