September 28
In honor of the Dedication of St. Michael the Archangel, our glorious patron and guardian

The beautiful and powerful "green" presence of St. Michael. This photo was taken on July 15, 1993 and interpreted by Veronica.

Rosary Vigil
7:30 p.m. - 10:30 p.m.

Our Lady of the Roses, Mary Help of Mothers Shrine is staffed and directed by St Michael's World Apostolate.  Look for the St Michael's World Apostolate banner when you come.

Send us your petition and it will be placed at the feet of Our Lady at the next Rosary Vigil.  Jesus and Our Lady promised to be present at the sacred grounds as long as one person comes here to pray.

About 150 pilgrims attended.

This Polaroid photo was taken this evening by Michael Mangan, SMWA president, on the eve of St. Michael's feast day.  It was taken of Our Lady's statue (center) but miraculously (on the right) an image of a shield appears in a rosary bead pattern.  Jesus has called St. Michael "the greatest warrior of Heaven" (June 9, 1979), and he is often depicted in art with a shield which would also symbolize protection.  Below is an enlargement.

This brings to mind the words of Veronica concerning St. Michael the Archangel that were spoken on three occasions:

Veronica: And over on the left side, I can see Michael spreading his wings now. He's covering, like a protective shield, the whole sky over Our Lady's statue. He surrounds the whole grounds here with his being. There is no human way to explain the immense size of Michael. He is truly a magnificent warrior of Heaven. (November 25, 1978)

Veronica: But now I see Michael in the background. He's coming into the sky, and he's like a protective shield, because--Michael is difficult to explain.  You know he's certainly supernatural because he's tremendous in size, and he has a way of covering--his . . . I couldn't call it a body; the whole breadth of him goes across the sky, like a shield over Our Lady and Jesus now. (August 4, 1979)

Veronica: Now Michael is following behind Our Lady, a very protective shield for Her. (June 16, 1977)

At 9 p.m. the invocation of the blessing of Jesus and Mary: "All who are able to kneel, please kneel, and with faith lift your Rosary up to Heaven and Jesus and Mary will bless us."

A Polaroid photo taken this evening of Our Lady's statue by Bill Dykes LOSM.  What do you see?

Vincent McDonnell, Vigil Coordinator, leads the final prayers.

Shrine guard elevates a vigil candle as the crowd repeats the invocation:
Mary, light of the World, pray for us
Our Lady of the Roses, pray for us
Mary, Help of Mothers, pray for us.
