The Consecration.  The Church teaches and the faithful believe that the bread and wine change into the true and living presence of Jesus Christ.  Click here for more information on this doctrine.

The elevation

The consecrated bread (in the shape of a small cube) is placed in the consecrated wine inside the chalice and administered by a golden spoon.  Father stressed before Mass that communion in the hand is not possible in the Byzantine rite and encouraged the congregation to receive Holy Communion kneeling. Our Lady has directed that Holy Communion is to be received in the traditional manner: only from the consecrated hands of a priest, on the tongue, and kneeling. (see Proper Reception of Holy Eucharist).

Benediction takes place in every Mass immediately after Holy Communion

Father raises the consecrated body and blood (in the chalice) and blesses the congregation

Father delivered an inspiring homily which centered on the Mission of Veronica of the Cross.

Mass is finished when the doors are closed by the priest
