ANNUAL VISIT
TO VERONICA'S GRAVESITE
TO PRAY FOR THE DEAD, ESPECIALLY BAYSIDE DEVOTEES

On November 6, 2011, after the Sunday Holy Hour for priests, pilgrims visited the grave of Veronica of the Cross at Mount St. Mary's Cemetery in Queens, N.Y. The plaque above that was brought to the gravesite is a gold-framed memorial with the names of the friends of St Michael's World Apostolate who have died this year.

James Donohue, LOSM and Vigil Coordinator (far r.), leading the Rosary, especially for all the Bayside devotees who died this year, the poor souls in Purgatory and the souls who rest in this cemetery.

Plenary indulgence The faithful who during the period of eight days from the Commemoration of All Souls inclusive, visit a cemetery in a spirit of piety and devotion, and pray, even mentally, for the dead, may gain a plenary indulgence on the usual conditions, on each day of the Octave, applicable only to the dead.

"My child, I wish to reveal to you one mystery of life beyond the veil. There is not just one place of purging. No, My child, there are stages for the purging. Many will be here in the lowest stage unto the end of your world, only because there is no one who can make restitution to the Father for the offenses committed by these souls while they were upon earth."

Our Lady, May 22, 1974

5 years indulgence  The faithful who devoutly recite the 129th Psalm, De Profundis or say the Our Father, Hail Mary and the versicle Eternal rest..., in supplication for the faithful departed, may gain an indulgence of 5 years every day in November; plenary on the usual condition, if this pious practice is repeated daily for a month

"Just one kind thought, one memory can ease a part of their suffering [in Purgatory]. Many here have been forgotten by their own.”

Our Lady, May 22, 1974
