Baysiders battle ferocious nor'easter at Holy Hour

Sunday Holy Hour for priests

April 15, 2007

Welcome to Our Lady of the Roses, Mary Help of Mothers Shrine, staffed and directed by St Michael's World Apostolate.

Despite the windy and stormy weather, a small army of brave souls battled the torrential rains and bullying winds to pray the rosary at the Sunday Holy Hour for priests. The East Coast deluge broke numerous rainfall records and unleashed horrific floods not seen in decades, even centuries.

As Our Lord said, "Great elemental tragedies, disasters, man-made and God-sent upon mankind, shall increase in volume, shall increase in intensity and numbers" (May 26, 1979)

By midnight, nearly 7.5 inches of rain had fallen in Central Park (New York), making it the second wettest day there since recordkeeping began in 1869.

Days later, acting Governor Charles Cody announced that this was the second worse flood ever in the history of the state of New Jersey and President Bush declared New Jersey a disaster area

A country that shuts out its God starts down the path for its own destruction. A country that loses its morality has placed one foot already in hell. Servitude, desecration, soul destruction-All will reap what they have sown. Floods, great heat, death." (Our Lady, April 1, 1972)
