Said at the Rosary Vigils and Sunday Holy Hours

The Angelus

The angel of the Lord declared unto Mary
And She conceived of the Holy Ghost.
Hail Mary . . .

Behold the handmaid of the Lord
Be it done unto me according to thy word.
Hail Mary . . .

And the Word was made flesh
And dwelt amongst us.
Hail Mary . . .

V. Pray for us, O holy Mother of God
R. That we may be made worthy of the promises of Christ.

Let us pray.

Pour forth, we beseech Thee, O Lord, Thy grace into our hearts, that we, to whom the Incarnation of Christ, Thy Son was made known by the message of an angel, may by His Passion and Cross be brought to the glory of His Resurrection, through the same Christ our Lord. Amen.

Prayers for Daily Protection (from page 38 in Music to Heaven Ears hymn book)

Angels sent by God to guide us,
Be our light and walk beside us,
Be our guardian and protect us,
On the paths of our life direct us.

August Queen of Heaven, sovereign Mistress of the angels, Thou Whom from the beginning has been given the mission and the power to crush the head of satan, we humbly beseech Thee to send Thy holy legions, that under Thy command and by Thy power, they may pursue the evil spirits, encounter them on every side, resist their bold attacks, and drive them hence into the abyss of eternal woe. Amen.

O most holy Mother, send Thy angels to defend us and to drive the cruel enemy from us. All ye holy angels and archangels, help and defend us. Amen.

O good and tender Mother! Thou shalt ever be our love and our hope. Holy angels and archangels, keep and defend us. Amen.

Blessed be Good Friday. Good Friday is the day Our Lord was crucified, His Blessed Mother standing by, with a mournful heart and a dismal cry.

(Make the sign of the cross, or trace on your forehead I.N.R.I. and say:)
“May Jesus of Nazareth, King of the Jews, preserve us from a sudden and unprovided death.”
(Anyone who says this little prayer both night and day shall never have a sudden or unprovided death--Saint Edmund)

Mary, with Her loving Son, bless us each and every one. Amen.

I protect myself with the shield of the Immaculate Conception. May we be protected with the shield of the Immaculate Conception.

Finish by making the sign of the Cross:

In the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost.  Amen.
